Spent a couple days in Hawaii working with my DREAM ON/GOOD familia and I have to say Hawaii is definitely a dope place to create.  The scenery is incredible and there is also a seclusion about being out there.  This definitely brings me back to THE GRIND days because we are pretty much working on music around the clock…

KPLtv started a video series going behind the scenes of the art of chopping up beats and beat making with some talented artist. This is the first episode with our good ol’ buddy 88-Keys. He chops up some beats on a MPC 3000 he said he’s had since he was 15! wowzers.

This must be the realest shit ever. We did this track like 3-4 yrs ago during the grind, trying to get shit moving. Just knowing what he was dealing with during this time period makes this record more than just a song. The sample used in the song was taken from Bob Dylan’s “Lay Lady Lay”. I noticed a bad quality version of it leaked so I figure might as well put out a better version.
